Not everyone who receives a transaction from ChainTraced has an account. This page covers the two ways they still get the data: the email ChainTraced sends when you submit, and the public link you can create for a transaction. It also tells a recipient without an account what their options are.
What the customer receives by email
When you Submit a customer transaction, ChainTraced emails the addresses on the customer counterparty and any additional recipients on the transaction.

Who sent what |
Your company name, the transaction type and the order details: your and their order and product numbers, delivery date, lot number, notes and comments. |
|
The attachments |
Shared attachments and the generated PDF are attached up to about 20 MB in total. Files beyond that are listed as available in ChainTraced instead of attached. |
|

Opens the transaction in ChainTraced. It requires a login. |

Create your free account link |
Included when the customer counterparty is Not connected in ChainTraced. It leads to Register an account for that recipient. |
The public link described below is not part of the email. If you want recipients to open the transaction without an account, copy the link or the QR code and share it yourself.
Public links
A public link lets anyone who has it see the transaction and download its shared attachments without logging in. Private attachments are never shown.
Where: the customer transaction, top bar.
-
Click Create public link. The link and QR code only work once the transaction is submitted.
-
Copy public link puts the address on the clipboard. Download the QR-code for the public link saves a PNG named after the transaction number, for example to print on the certificate or the delivery note.
To create the link for every customer transaction automatically, turn on Generate Public Links for Transactions sent to customers under Company Settings > Notifications and Reminders. It applies to lot transactions and, among product transactions, to Environmental Declarations. See Account setup and company settings.
The public page shows your logo, the transaction with its order details, the manufacturing lot and results where there is one, and the Supplier attachments and Customer attachments that were shared. Print transaction prints it. A viewer who is logged in to ChainTraced gets View in app instead.
You received a transaction and have no account
|
You want to |
Do this |
|---|---|
|
Read the certificate and download the files |
Open the attachments in the email. If the sender gave you a public link or QR code, open it: the transaction and its shared files are shown without a login, and Print transaction prints them. |
|
Approve, comment or keep the data in your own account |
Click Create your free account in the email and follow Create a ChainTraced Company account. The sender is connected to you when the account is ready, at once or after they approve the connection request. The transaction then appears under Lot Transactions > Supplier or Product Transactions > Supplier; see View and Approve Supplier Transactions. |
|
Use your company's existing account |
Ask a colleague to invite you, see Create a user account. The transaction is visible to your company once the sender is connected to it; if not, ask the sender to connect with you from their Counterparties page. |
On a public page, Login opens the transaction in ChainTraced for users who already have an account and whose company is connected to the sender. Without a connection the transaction is not visible after login; use the public link or the email instead.
