Add upstream emissions with Dataset

This instruction should be used when upstream (raw material) emissions shall be assigned to the purchased product with an emission dataset. It is typically used when upstream emissions are not collected from the supplier directly in ChainTraced, or when secondary emission data is used.

Detailed instructions for how to perform the steps can be found in the standard Product Carbon Footprint section of the manual found here: https://chaintraced.atlassian.net/wiki/x/ZQBXH

The list below assumes that the following actions are already completed.

  • Manufactured and purchased products are created

  • Manufactured products have a Bill of Material with the purchased product and quantity used and the yield (ratio gross/net weight).

  • To submit a response to your customer, it’s also assumed that you have received requests in the Part Approval Outbound section of ChainTraced.

Steps

  1. Create at least one dataset for your internal/core emissions.

  2. Create one dataset for each raw material type (upstream emissions) as above.

  3. Assign or Bulk assign the core emission dataset to MANUFACTURED products.

  4. Assign the Upstream emission dataset(s) to the related PURCHASED products as above.

  5. Link/update products on outbound if needed and Submit.
